The confirmed launch date
Trailmark Games, the publisher, shows October 23, 2026 in the launch banner on its official game page. Steam lists the same day in its product metadata, and Nintendo's Switch 2 listing displays it in its own store fields. Three separate official records agreeing on one date is the strongest evidence available before launch. We treat that date as confirmed but still scheduled.
The date was first announced on September 1, 2026. IGN published it alongside a long interview with developer Bamtang Games and Coolabi. The official release date trailer went up the same day on IGN's YouTube channel. GameStop and PlayStation posted their own uploads of the same announcement.
That makes the date roughly seven weeks of public notice before launch. Every official source we checked since then still shows October 23. No delay or change of date has been announced. We will update this page immediately if that changes.
Is the game out yet?
Not at the time of our check on October 22, 2026. Steam still offered pre-purchase during research, which means the full game had not unlocked. We describe the date as scheduled rather than released until the store pages switch to a live product. This wording keeps the page honest for anyone reading it before launch.
We will update this page once the launch is confirmed on the official stores. Do not rely on a countdown copied from cached text such as "releases in three days", because cached pages can lag behind real store status. The store page itself is always the best place to confirm whether the game has unlocked in your region. Your platform's library will also show the game as playable once it is live.
Which platforms launch on October 23
Five systems are announced for launch: Windows PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. On PC, Steam is a confirmed storefront, and the publisher also names the Epic Games Store. An accessible Epic listing could not be verified in our research, so we do not link to one. Steam and Epic are PC stores, not separate platforms.
Each console has its own official store listing with the same scheduled date. No PS4, Xbox One, Mac, Linux or mobile release was verified. A missing announcement does not prove a port can never happen. It does mean you should not expect one on launch day.

What time does it unlock?
No official source we inspected publishes a single worldwide unlock hour. The records agree on the calendar day, but they do not say whether every store unlocks at the same moment. Any exact launch time you see elsewhere should come from an official announcement before you trust it. We will add an official time here if one is published.
Digital stores often release by region, so the date shown in your local store is the one that matters for you. Nintendo's listing also shows a local preorder deadline, which is a separate field from the release itself. A preorder bonus deadline is not the same thing as the time the game becomes playable. Read each field on your store page separately.
Editions you can order before launch
PlayStation and Xbox list two editions: Standard and the Feral Edition. The Feral Edition bundles the base game with the Prophecy Pack, a cosmetic DLC. In our US snapshot, both console stores showed $29.99 for Standard and $39.99 for Feral. Prices vary by region and can change, so check your own store.
The Prophecy Pack contains 8 cat-creator accessories, 12 wearable accessories, a cel-shaded character skin, 4 photo-mode poses and 4 photo-mode effects. It is also sold separately on Steam and requires the base game. It does not add an extra Clan campaign. Our DLC page compares every edition in detail.
The publisher also promotes the Purrfect Look Pack as a bonus for digital preorders. That offer applies to digital preorders, so do not assume every retailer or a later purchase receives it. Check the exact edition and bonus wording on your store before you buy. Preorder terms can differ between stores and regions.
What you get on day one
The game is an adventure RPG inspired by Erin Hunter's Warriors books. You create an original cat, join one of four Clans and play that Clan's story campaign in the Lake Territories. The Clans are ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan and WindClan. Six locations are confirmed, including the Moonpool and the Island.
Steam lists three modes. Prophecy is the story mode, Defender is a survival challenge and Skirmish is asynchronous competition against other players. Combat is turn-based, with battles of up to three cats per side and 75 unlockable combat moves. Hunting, exploration, quests, crafting and den customization fill the time between battles.

The official release date trailer is embedded above and plays on this page. Its published description repeats the October 23 date and the five-platform lineup. Caption text could not be retrieved, so we summarize the description rather than quoting the video. That keeps our summary limited to what the uploader actually published.
Older promotional material may still mention an earlier seasonal release window. The Build Your Warrior Cat teaser from August 25, 2026, for example, predates the dated announcement. When sources disagree, the dated September 1 announcement and the current store pages take priority. Treat older windows as historical rather than current.
