Where the AI question started
A Steam Community thread titled "AI was used to make this game" appeared after launch. Posters argued that parts of the store text read as machine-written. Other players disagreed, noting that Steam requires developers to disclose AI content.
These are player opinions in a forum. They are not evidence of how the game was made.
What the records show
PCGamingWiki's page for the game carries a generative AI note describing moderate use, mainly to streamline coding and fix bugs and to help produce early concepts of natural environments. PCGamingWiki is a community wiki, so treat this as a reported listing rather than an official statement.
The official Steam page had no AI disclosure block when we checked. Steam asks developers to declare generative AI content, so the missing block is notable, but disclosures can be added or changed at any time.

Does it change whether you should buy?
Reviewers' main complaints are bugs, dated graphics and repetitive campaigns, not AI. If AI use is a deal-breaker for you, wait for an official statement or an updated Steam disclosure. Our review page summarizes the critic scores.
