The official PS5 listing
The PlayStation Store concept page is the primary source for the PS5 version and its editions. The publisher's official game page cross-checks PS5 and the October 23 date. Together they confirm the game is coming to PlayStation 5 at launch. The game had not launched at the time of our October 22 check.
PlayStation's own YouTube channel published a release date trailer on September 1, 2026, embedded above. Its description confirms the dated PlayStation announcement. We did not retrieve a transcript, so we do not quote the video itself. The trailer plays here on this page.
Standard vs Feral Edition
Two editions are listed on the US PlayStation Store. The Standard Edition is the base game, and the Feral Edition bundles the base game with the Prophecy Pack. In our snapshot, Standard cost $29.99 and Feral cost $39.99. Recheck prices before buying, since they can change.
The Prophecy Pack is cosmetic. It contains 8 cat-creator accessories, 12 wearable accessories, a cel-shaded character skin, 4 photo-mode poses and 4 photo-mode effects. It does not add extra story campaigns. If you enjoy customizing your cat and using photo mode, Feral adds those extras.
| Edition | Contents | Snapshot price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Base game | $29.99 |
| Feral | Base game + Prophecy Pack | $39.99 |
DualSense and store features
The PS5 listing shows vibration and trigger effect support for the DualSense controller. These are store labels, so we cannot describe how strongly or when the effects are used. Hands-on impressions will need to wait until after launch. We will add them once we have played.
The store also lists one player and optional online features. We did not verify PS5 Pro enhancements, 60 fps performance or a Platinum trophy. Do not assume any of these until official or tested information appears. Store labels describe support, not measured performance.
Online play on PS5
The optional online label does not mean live co-op. The game description specifies asynchronous play: Skirmish battles against other players, camp visits and helping friends with crafted items or resources. Friends do not need to be online at the same time for these features. The story campaigns are played on your own.
No PlayStation Plus requirement for these features was verified. We also found no evidence of PS Plus catalog inclusion. Check the store page for current subscription details. Cross-play with other platforms was not confirmed either.
Is there a PS4 version?
No PS4 edition was verified in our research. The publisher's platform list names PlayStation 5 only for Sony consoles. If you are shopping for PS4, check the store carefully before buying any listing with a similar name. Other Warrior Cats products exist, so confirm the full title.
The other announced platforms are Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. All of them share the October 23, 2026 date. Cross-play and cross-save between PS5 and other systems were not verified. Treat each platform purchase as separate.
What you play on PS5
You create an original cat, join ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan or WindClan, and follow that Clan's story campaign. The adventure takes place in the Lake Territories, with hunting, exploration, quests, crafting and den customization. Prophecy, Defender and Skirmish are the listed modes. The same description appears on every platform.
Battles are turn-based, with up to three cats per side and 75 unlockable moves. Moves change combat stances, so the developer describes reading the enemy and positioning as central to tactics. Clan techniques, enemy weaknesses and ancestor attacks are part of the system. Opponents include rival cats, foxes, badgers and dogs.
Your Clan, level and training affect your base stats, according to the developer. Completing quests earns favor with your Clan. Your choices shape your cat's story and the moves it learns. Our beginner guide walks through these systems step by step.
Preorder bonus
The publisher promotes the Purrfect Look Pack as a digital preorder bonus. It is separate from the Prophecy Pack included in the Feral Edition. Check the PlayStation Store wording to confirm the bonus applies to your order. Bonus terms can differ by region.
Preorder offers can end before or at launch. Physical retail preorders may follow different rules, so do not assume they include the digital bonus. The store page is the final word on what each purchase includes. Keep a record of the edition you choose.
The three game modes
The PlayStation Store describes the same three modes as Steam. Prophecy is the story mode, where you play one of the four Clan campaigns. Defender is a survival challenge, and Skirmish is asynchronous competition against other players. Only Skirmish and the camp features involve other players.
This structure explains why the store lists one player with optional online features. You can enjoy the full story offline in Prophecy mode. The online parts add asynchronous competition and social visits on top. No live co-op was described for any mode.
| Mode | What it is |
|---|---|
| Prophecy | Story mode with four Clan campaigns |
| Defender | Survival challenge |
| Skirmish | Asynchronous competition against other players |
Who makes the game
Bamtang Games developed Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, and Trailmark Games publishes it. The official copyright lines name Trailmark Games LLC and Working Partners Ltd, a Coolabi company. The game is inspired by Erin Hunter's Warriors novels. This wiki is an independent fan site with no affiliation to any of these companies.
The developer discussed the game in a September 1, 2026 IGN interview. That interview confirms the original player-created cat and the stance-based combat design. It is one of the sources behind the gameplay details on this page. You can find the link in our sources list.
